Tall ships in the moonlight on Bellingham Bay, WA. Both steam ships and sailing vessels plied local waters with their cargo. Most exports were destined for west coast ports while a few made the long trip to foreign ports. In 1900 it was reported that shipping in the harbor consisted of 233,032 total tons of imports and exports with an overall value of $13,111,000.
